Since 2004, teams of US and Greek archaeologists and students, have undertaken detailed field surveys and excavation at the site of Mt. Lykaion. Each year has brought new discoveries and historical insights to Mt. Lykaion. Read through the records of survey seasons past and present.

Mt. Lykaion Excavation and Survey Project

Arcadia, Greece

Summer 2026

During the Summer 2026, between June 15 – August 1, excavation will be continued at the Sanctuary of Zeus and the Sanctuary of Pan at Mt. Lykaion in Arcadia, Greece under the auspices of the American School of Classical Studies at Athens, with a permit from the Ministry of Culture and Sports of Greece. A team from the University of Arizona directed by David Gilman Romano and Mary E. Voyatzis will be working in the lower mountain meadow where survey and excavation has been underway 2006-2010, 2016-2022 and 2025. The following positions need to be filled for the coming campaign.

Arcadian Fellowships, covering room, board and travel may be available for many of the student positions.

Application deadline is November 15, 2025

Supervisory positions need experience of between 1-3 years.
